We're so excited to have this website to share information and stories about babies, being a new parent, community events and whatever else comes up as you and/or your loved one(s) start on the journey of new parenthood. Feel free to suggest topics, send a story or ask questions. If you have a First Steps Home Visitor and want to send a shout out for her we'd love to hear from you. Please check out our video and photo galleries on our Media page, then meet all of our staff on the About page. If you'd like to talk with us in person find all our contact info on the Contact page. Visit us again and again as we update our announcements and events and join in the conversation by posting comments, suggestions, or questions.

Taos is so lucky to have First Steps! Way to go!
How 'bout a post about all the other people who are there to love and support a new baby and her/his parents?

Thanks for asking, Summer. The Taos Community offers young children and their families lots and lots of opportunities to learn, play, and grow together. We'll be posting community events for kids and families on our EVENTS calendar as this website develops but you all should know of some key programs in our community.
UNM Taos Early Childhood Resource Center has a toy lending library, books for kids, books and videos on child development/parenting/etc for big people, and brochures about lots of programs here in our community. Stop by at 1335 Gusdorf, Suite Q, and visit. Or call for more information: 575-758-1395.
Los Angelitos Early Childhood Services is another great program offering services to children 0-3 with developmental delays. They have an awesome Play Group, open to any child 2-3 years old. Give them a call at 575-758-4274.
And speaking of play groups, check out Twirl Toy Store and Play Space. They have ongoing activities, festivals, events, and a fabulous outdoor space to play. 575-751-1402
We'll keep talking about community events and supports on this blog. Let us know YOUR favorite kid spot, resource, or community event.

Yes, so much fun to see all of those adorable babies and toddlers. Check out the photos on our MEDIA page!
Our 3rd Birthday marks a very special year -- those families who started with us back in early 2007 will graduate this year as their children turn three. It's true...children grow so quickly. So, yes, cherish these years. And hats off to the parents who journey with their young ones as they explore the big and exciting world around them!
